Our work is to highlight and partner with Palestinian organizations. Beirut and Beyond educates on Palestinian refugee narrative, funds projects making a difference in their communities, and most importantly amplifies Palestinian voices.

Palestinian Civil Defense

In Lebanon, Palestinian Civil Defense (PCD) provides emergency resources to Palestinian refugee camps such as firefighting, search and rescue and paramedic services. They are the front line for COVID and disaster relief for Palestinian refugees. PCD is made up of Palestinian refugee volunteers. They continue to serve both Palestinian and Lebanese communities as the country of Lebanon faces war and economic collapse.

Ahlam Lajea (Dreams of a refugee)

In Lebanon, Ahlam Lajea Association (ALA) is a non-governmental organization established by five young Palestinian graduates from Shatila camp in Lebanon. ALA delivers services in Palestinian refugee camps in the areas of education, protection and inclusion, governance, cultural initiatives, sports projects, Gender-Based Violence prevention, Palestinian Civil Defense, and Solid Waste Management Projects. With over 200 full-time employees, ALA supports and benefits more than 1500 annually individuals through its various programs.

Simsim Kitchen

In Lebanon, Simsim Kitchen is a cultural cooking experience. They facilitate cooking class in Lebanon and online, hosted by refugee woman to provide income. In 2022, they started collecting recipes from the different regions in Lebanon for a cookbook to highlight the diversity and resiliency of Palestinian and Syrian refugees, Lebanese citizens, and Armenian descendants.

Palestinian Civil Defense


Palestinian Civil Defense
is a network of emergency services in Palestinian camps throughout Lebanon. They are the only independent stakeholder providing these emergency services in Palestinian refugee camps. They are made up of volunteers, refugees from the camps, who have been trained and certified in firefighting, first aid, and search and rescue.

Simsim Kitchen

Simsim Kitchen facilitates cooking classes in Lebanon hosted by women from impoverished areas and refugee camps. You will experience local food and culture while empowering women by helping them become independent and support their families.
