Iftar Dinner at The Refuge - Hosted by Multicultural Mosaic Foundation
Beirut and Beyond is proud to partner in this event!
Sunday | March 23rd | 6:15pm-Arrive / 6:30pm-Start | at The Refuge
The Refuge is honored to partner with the Multicultural Mosaic Foundation for a 2025 Ramadan (Iftar) Dinner. They are dedicated to “harmony through dialogue,” and this is a learning dinner and experience for any and all faiths and backgrounds who desire to learn, eat, and share in friendship together. Kids are totally welcome, and registrations are required for materials and set up as space is limited.
These kinds of community learning experiences are special gifts to us. Feel free to pass on to others you know who might be interested in listening, learning, and eating together! Use the form below to register, and we’ll send out details as we get closer.
Schedule of the evening:
Please arrive at 6pm to get seated and settled; out of respect for our friends, we will not have snacks or drinks available prior to our dinner, a Refuge first!
At 6:15 will be a time of introductions, listening and learning about Ramadan, spiritual practices in the Muslim faith with a place to ask questions.
7:15 we’ll transition to getting dinner and re-seated.
7:30pm is call to prayer for Muslims followed by hosted dinner and breaking the fast (iftar).
8:30pm Closing

A few words from them about Ramadan -
"Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting to commemorate the first revelation of the Qur'an to Prophet Muhammad according to Islamic belief. For Muslims, Ramadan is a month of fasting, prayer, reflection and community. This annual observance is regarded as one of the Five Pillars of Islam. The month lasts 29–30 days based on the visual sightings of the crescent moon, according to numerous biographical accounts compiled in the tradition of Prophet Muhammad.”
