  • Cana Wine Bar 2554 South Broadway Denver, CO, 80210 United States (map)

Beirut and Beyond’s Giving Tuesday: December 1
Rooted in Community. Online. In person.

Join us this Giving Tuesday as a community supporting the Palestinian refugee community in Lebanon.

How to participate on December 1

Online: We’ll have fundraisers on social media, and our silent auction on Givebutter features beautiful items. Maybe you’ll find a Christmas gift! All proceeds from the auction and fundraisers go to our Palestinian partners in Lebanon.

In person: Join us for a happy hour at Cana Wine Bar from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Stop in for a few minutes after work or stay longer. All the auction items will be on display. Grab a glass of wine, or choose from plenty of non-alcoholic options. Bonus: you’ll be supporting a locally owned small business!

The point?

Our goal is to raise $10,000 in one day, as part of our $60,000 end-of-year goal to support four organizations in Lebanon.

This year’s Giving Tuesday funds a solar energy system for the Palestinian Civil Defense (PCD) fire station in Bourj al-Barajneh Camp in Beirut.

This is more than a utility upgrade. It’s an investment in PCD’s capabilities. Reliable, independent power means the station can keep its equipment running, stay ready to respond, and put its limited funds toward its mission rather than electricity bills. In Lebanon and in the camp, monthly bills can reach hundreds of US dollars.

The complete system will cover the fire station’s electricity needs and reduce its dependence on costly grid electricity.

The system includes:

  • 10 solar panels

  • 2 lithium batteries (17 kWh)

  • A 12 kW inverter

  • Mounting rails, accessories, and wiring

  • Installation

But we also want to be together in community. As Palestinian refugees serve their own communities, we want them to know that a community in America is supporting them.

Everyone is welcome, even if you can’t donate. It will be a casual evening where you can ask questions and get updates from Lebanon.
